WiFi deteriorates after closing the lid on Surface Book connected to Surface Dock

If I close the lid of my Surface Book while connected to a Surface Dock, WiFi speed will drop from 54 Mbps to as low as 1 Mpbs. The WiFi router is an AT&T U-Verse Pace 3801 HGV and the power setting for close the lid while plugged in is Do Nothing. I am taking this thing back to the store for a refund if it can't be fixed.

Same as all the others, just picked up a surface dock to be able to use with external monitor, close the lid and guess what? - My WIFI takes a dump.
I have kind of an annoying work around (not sure if it's been mentioned) flip the tablet around, lay it flat with the screen facing up and the WIFI no longer deteriorates.
Any real solutions from Microsoft? 5 Months to fix a known issue just seems too long.

2016-04-21T17:05:46+00:00 This problem has all the symptoms of being a hardware issue, so I wouldn't get my hopes up too high that a driver/firmware update will fix it.

2016-04-20T21:49:56+00:00 Just want to add that this is still an issue with the latest firmware.... my solution has been to keep a microfiber cloth folded over between the lid and keyboard when its closed and docked...

2016-04-17T03:29:15+00:00 I also observed the same issue here... My experiments showed the following:
- If it is not connected to the surface dock (and not connected to the power cable as well), the internet speed does not change when I open or close the lid.
- Location matters (I moved the book at differnt locations on the desk, and the symptom differed)
- The impact to the uploading speed seemed to be more serious than that to the downloading speed.
- It was interesting to see that flipping the direction of the connector substantially affected the internet speed. Specifically, when the connector's cable (I don't know how to call this...) goes toward the front of the book, the deterioration was not as bad; but when the connector's cable goes toward the rare of the book, the uploading speed dropped close to 0.
Hope these experimental results help, and wish Microsoft gets this issue addressed asap! - it greatly affected the user experience, as no one wants to run without internet!!!
