Similar to this question, I'd like to know what sort of devices could be powered off of the USB-C port on the Surface Go 3. I.e. how much power can the tablet output to another device?
My company currently uses Surface Pros, but we'd be interested if the Go 3 would be sufficient for our purposes.
Slightly off-topic but is there a specification for the whole surface line what their USB-ports can handle in terms of output? It would be nice to get the whole picture of what we could use.

Is it that Surface Go 3 can only support 7.5W drawn from its USB-C port ?
If Surface Go 3's USB-C port can only support power output of 7.5W, does it mean when a USB-C hub with mulitple USB-A connection to external USB devices is connected , according point 2, only one external USB-A device will work at any one time, would like to some elaboration on this. What does this mean. Thanks
I have the same question. I want to find out the specs. None of the replies answer the question... what wattage output can the MS Surface Go 3 handle? How can I tell if a USB C hub to connect a USB thumbdrive or /and an external monitor will work? I have tried two and get the message that the USB C Hub requires more power than the MS Surface Go can output... but how do I find out what the MS Surface Go wattage output is?

A thumb drive and a webcam are examples of peripherals/accessories thus if you connect these peripherals to a device using the USB port, it will definitely get powered since it will not require a power outlet to work. If you receive an error saying power surge on USB port, it means the device you're connecting to your Surface takes too much power that the port of your Surface is not able to handle.

I would like to argue a bit with your answer though...
If I connect a thumbdrive to the USB-port, that would obviously get power. If I connect an external webcam, I'd also assume that it would get powered. But, (and now I'm speaking from experience) if I connect an even higher powered device (but still USB-powered), I've recieved an error message saying "Power Surge on the USB Port". So I'd like to know what the USB port is spec:ed to.
For some context, I do not recieve this error message on the Surface Pro 4/7/8, but do on the Sufrace Go 3.
