Surface 8 Pro - new SSD - compatibility with PCIe 4

I tried your trick with WD SN740 1 Tb. It works perfectly if the surface is plugged in AC. I cheked the ssd with the official WD Dashboard and everything is ok. Run very smart and fast.

But... on DC, it freeze after few seconds.

Applied all the trick of Lalaneta's post but works only on AC power. I've checked that the DC Power Settings in Registry is set to 0, like AC Power settigns, but doesn't solve the problem.

I Tried to set HCPI to HCPI+DIM instead of Active, but same problem.

Anyone have an idea ?

The update hasn't made any difference . My ssd still locked up then restarts, presume this is down to the increase power comsumption.

This method works for the WD SN740 1TB on my SP8, thanks.

Finally, my problem seems disappeared, at least for 7 hours today.

Inspired by lalaneta. What I did was:

1. Enable "Link State Power Management" option in Power Options.

2. Choose "Off" for "Link State Power Management".
3. Reboot.

After the problem was gone, I did a test on SN740: seq read > 5000MB/s, seq write > 4000MB/s. Also, information from WD dashboard app said the interface connection is "Gen4 (4 Lanes)". Nice.
