Surface Pro 4, Screen Flickering, Shaking

I purchased SP4 device a few months ago and it was working fine for a month. Then I noticed that when the CPU is at its max, the screen flickers a bit. Investigating further revealed that it flickers even if it is setting idle. It does not flicker if at least one of the following thing is done:

  1. A video being played in browser 
  2. If I keep the touch screen busy by either taping it or keeping a finger on it
  3. If I use the touchpad
  4. If keyboard is used for typing

This resulted in making the device completely unusable while reading articles or ebooks. I am a developer, most of the time I have to read the code and to do that, I have to constantly keep a finger on the touch pad or the screen. I contacted surface support in October and November and was told that the developers are working on the patch. Looking at the updates the developers are pushing since then, I don't think anyone is even aware of the problem there.

Just wondering if anyone else had the same problem (and the fix) and if not, what's the procedure for the refund? I will rather go for a mac then sacrificing $2000+ for a dancing screen.

    Mine still flickers and its gotten worse. A game of hearthstone gets it into hyper flicker mode that even when the screen is constantly refresh by a video or the seconds hand, it doesnt even stop. I did a full reset today which has not helped. I think im sending it in to repair tomorrow. Its unusable.

    I'm also cautiously optimistic.

    I've stopped using the tablet screen during my work days, relying instead on 2 external monitors.

    And since I started doing that (about 2 months ago), the flickering has completely stopped when I used the tablet at home, even when using the tablet screen intensively for long periods of time.

    Ok ... ran the Intel Extreme Tuning Utility ... stress tests.

    5 minutes each for CPU, Memory, and Graphics tests and ... no flickering.

    It triggered the Power Limit Throttling many times.

    But when running the Graphics stress test, I did see the 'band' along the top of the screen ... but faintly.

    One thing I forgot to mention, I am on the Insider Preview Builds.  The Just fixes, apps and drivers.

    Ah...

    I thought I am the only one who has the problem 

    Or is it my eyes got problem.. and I went to check whther my eyeglases have a problem 

    It happens getting often than before

    I never dropped or bumped the sp4 to anything 

    So. What is the problem

    Why and how to fix it?
