Surface Pro 4, Screen Flickering, Shaking

It is quite expensive to have SP4 and my one was just 5-6 months old. From advertising and your website it gives the impression that this unit is great also to do some works but after using for a long time, it overheats and makes the screen flicker and goes only if I shut it down but comes back again after I work on it. 

To make it short - makes it useless.

I have now faced my USB fan to the front of the Surface i.e. the screen itself. Cooling the back didn't work. But cooling the front seems to work so far! Can anyone try and confirm this?

I can confirm this for my SP4. If I run a Prime95 test to heat up the device, the screen won't flicker until the screen itself gets hot.

The only way Microsoft will do anything about this problem is that everyone band together and take them to court in a class action law suit because this product is faulty from the manufacture due to design faults.  The screen flickering for everyone gets worse when it heats up there has to be a connection with this. Is the new surface Pro going to do the same in a few months or year or 2 years then what will they do? This is not a cheap product and it should work flawless from day one for many years to come but all the surface models have had problems with one thing or another. What is the point of buying one if you can't fix it? If you send it back for repair the cost is very expensive just for it to last a few months or a year until the problem comes back so we end up with a top of the range model SP4 that you can no longer use as a portable device anymore. I think all of us have a good claim for defective goods in a court of law.

Hi here is mine experience.

have mine SP4 since March 2016

none flicking in the firsts months but had some black screen problems that was solved after one update.

but soon after that the flick started. 

First just the top section, the small flicking in the all screen.

As someone said before it seems that it will stop if:

 screen is in not in idle(no refresh), that means video, typing, scrolling, all actions that will not send new information to the video driver will cause the flicking.

Also this is mostly valid in a hot +-30min use of the SP4

after one update (14/08/2017) ,or could be just a coincidence, the screen after some time and with some  temperature will go in a state of mass distraction and almost impossible to use, like have a ghost image 20% above the real one.

that could be corrected by forcing the monitor to turn off and then on again but it's a fix for a short limited time

Like all the persons paying a premium product that is not premium in experience is sad.

The funny part is that I was thinking have had a Apple Macbook air.

Because I am a windows user i still got the SP4 and can't say that I fully regret that decision.

But what i regret is getting the SP4 in this state.

So for the next time i will see the reviews more careful and maybe be away from Microsoft Surface line products.

they are great product, but don't live to the expectations Microsoft said.

Having a new laptop shouldn't had the need of updates regarding major issues like this one. All should work "out of the box" for the duration of the user experience.

After tickets all is solve by roll back drives that are not the solution, at least for me. 

Also making a full roll back to the system means losing all the documents and install programs 

Bad products get bad reputation that get lower sales and less incoming.

I guess that is why Microsoft turn the face around this issues.

admitting that is a problem can cause more clients to go away.

So they started an loop in this situation,

"install the new drivers"

"its all fine just do a roll back to the drivers"

"didn't work please do a full roll back to the all system",

can't remember what was the next step.

So maybe in the eyes of Microsoft its better losing the current clients that lose possible new ones.
