Surface Pro 4, Screen Flickering, Shaking

I purchased SP4 device a few months ago and it was working fine for a month. Then I noticed that when the CPU is at its max, the screen flickers a bit. Investigating further revealed that it flickers even if it is setting idle. It does not flicker if at least one of the following thing is done:

  1. A video being played in browser 
  2. If I keep the touch screen busy by either taping it or keeping a finger on it
  3. If I use the touchpad
  4. If keyboard is used for typing

This resulted in making the device completely unusable while reading articles or ebooks. I am a developer, most of the time I have to read the code and to do that, I have to constantly keep a finger on the touch pad or the screen. I contacted surface support in October and November and was told that the developers are working on the patch. Looking at the updates the developers are pushing since then, I don't think anyone is even aware of the problem there.

Just wondering if anyone else had the same problem (and the fix) and if not, what's the procedure for the refund? I will rather go for a mac then sacrificing $2000+ for a dancing screen.

    Warranties should never run out on issues like this that are blatant mistakes by companies. I've hard to Lumia, that had issues and because I purchased at Amazon did not have a warranty (Unlocked).  Fortunately, my 950 seems fine after two years, but Microsoft must do better. I must be a sucker for punishment when I purchased this Surface Pro 4. I know in future, I need to do better research before I buy a product.  Buying an expensive device ($1400) and having issues like these ones do not speak well for a company I have supported...and I've been fighting to stay loyal. Each time something like this happens, the competition is looking a lot more appealing. At least my Dell desktop is still working fine after two years.

    I have the same exact problem as described by everyone here.

    I've noticed that disabling bitlocker slightly reduces the occurances of this, but certainly doesn't solve the issue.

    I would suggest to everyone here that they make the issue known on sites such as Newegg and Amazon in the reviews section under Surface Pro 4.

    MS:  please either give us all refunds or let us exchange our SP4's for the latest iteration of the SP.

    I went through the Microsoft technicians online.  They worked on my system via their remote control.  I live in Trinidad and they gave me a call back while they remotely did updates; new installation of Windows 10; any many other steps to try to resolve the problem.  So their technicians saw first-hand what my problem looked like.

    They could not fix it.  Why doesn't Microsoft just recall the pro4.  It is not working.  I bought four surface pro: two surface pro 3 and two surface pro 4.  They surface pro 3 is working very well.  The both pro 4's are having the same screen flickering problem.

    This is obviously a manufacturer's problem.

    Microsoft please recall these equipment.  This is not fair.
