Is there a way to make surface pen right click without touching the screen?

I upgraded from a Lenovo with a pen to the Surface Book. The right click action worked on the Lenovo by hovering the pen above the screen (without actually touching the screen) and then pressing and releasing the button on the pen. It was quick and effective. Now with the Surface, I find myself having to slow down my actions by pressing and holding the button on the pen while simultaneously tapping the screen. Is there any way to change the right click action to how the pen on my Lenovo worked? I find this to be a constant frustration.
