Docking station 4 - external screen does not wake up after falling in sleep mode

I am connecting my Surface Pro 3 on the new docking station (for Surface Pro 3 and 4). And all this is connected to a DELL external monitor.

After some time the Surface Pro 3 falls into sleep mode and if I wait not too long I can wake it up using my Bluetooth mouse; which activates the docking station and the external screen.

But if I wait for too long my mouse cannot wake up my external screen (mouse wakes up Surface Pro 3 for sure and docking is always up) and I need to disconnect my docking station from Surface and reconnect it; then my display is activated again.

Any ideas?

    I have a dozen Surfaces at my office, Surface 2 / 3 / 4 Pro.

    ALL OF THEM HAVE ISSUES WITH DOCKING STATIONS AND DISPLAYPORT MONITORS.

    ALL HAVE EVERY UPDATE AVAILABLE.

    Seriously this is a real freaking problem and MS hasn't done a thing for anyone on it.

    Agree 100%.  

    This one little item takes the whole point of this and throws it out the window.  SP4 with dock

    Do we have any progress on this Docking issue? Has Microsoft submitted a fix specifically for the station??? It has been a while and the pb is still there.

    I have a similar problem with an Asus monitor connected to the Surface Pro 3 DisplayPort adapter. Oddly my Dell monitor connected to the DisplayPort adapter on the docking station works properly. Very frustrating.

    Clearly many people have this issue and it's not just one brand of monitor. Microsoft should have fixed this a long time ago. How can you expect customers to consider the Surface Pro PCs as desktop replacements when you have problems like this? Unacceptable.

    This is NOT just an external display issue. If you also have an Ethernet cable attached to the dock you'll notice you'll be on wireless when the Surface wakes up, only when you unplug and reattache the Dock cable does the icon change from wireless to cable.

    It also effects USB devices where you cant get access to them.

    So it would appear the Dock is not correctly waking up, either caused by the Surface not telling the Dock to wake or the Dock simply ignoring any wakeup commands.

    The Fix - Easy - Drivers/Firmware.... MICROSOFT, TAKE YOUR FINGERS OUT YOUR **** AND FIX IT!!!!!!
