Surface Pro 8 camera issues; have to constantly disable and re-enable camera driver to get it to work
I've had an on-going issue with my surface pro 8 since I first got it about 20 months ago. The camera will stop working, light will stay on. This happens quite frequently, up to a few times per hour sporadically while using the camera. I've only really been bothered by this more recently as I've been using the camera more for work.
Both front and rear-facing cameras will cease working when this happens.
Disabling and re-enabling the camera driver solves the problem temporarily, making me think it's a driver issue. I've previously attempted to uninstall and install the latest drivers to no effect.
Thank you for your time in this matter.

2024-06-20T09:10:32+00:00 Thanks for confirming. You would think this is high priority defect. Microsoft lift your game. I can't do business with this laptop when my camera bombs out after a few hours of teams calls. It's not as if I'm using something that isn't Microsoft... Windows 11, Surface 8, Microsoft Teams. A working camera is an essential feature.

2024-06-26T15:08:49+00:00 I purchased my Surface Pro 8 in October 2022 and ever since I have had trouble with the camera working. I have spent countless hours on the phone with technical support who has assured me each time , "it will never happen again" only for a week or two to go by and the camera doesn't work. I cannot get it to work for Zoom. I was told it was a known issue but there is no solution? I work from my Surface Pro for my job and have to be able to attend Zoom meetings, on camera, on the go. This has been a huge issue. I spent a lot of money on this computer for it to not work for the main purpose I need it to. Today, I have tried to get ahold of customer support either via chat or phone call for an hour now and cannot get anyone to respond. I was so kindly told by the automated service that my computer is now out of warranty and I can purchase help if I would like. Are you serious? I need to pay for support to get the camera on this computer working when it hasn't worked properly since I got it? You can see ALL the request tickets that have been put in. This is very frustrating and such a waste of time. It always takes hours to get support. I need some kind of help for this and for it to be resolved for good. This isn't good customer service or support. I have done ALL the things you recommend, and so have your employees who have supported me in the past and nothing works. I need a solution.

2024-09-11T16:50:02+00:00 Strangely, I didn't start having camera issues until about the time this update came along. I am also on a Surface 8. All Windows update have been installed, but the front and rear cameras cannot turn on at all.
