Surface Pro 7 randomly freezes while using the Zoom app

Brand new surface pro for about 2 weeks and I've experienced some random freezes while using the Zoom teaching app. For some reason, each time this happens the audio continues to work but nothing on the surface screen or keyboard is responsive and I'm forced to shutdown and restart each time. Support recommended that I run a recovery tool but that didn't do anything to fix my problem. Does this sound like more of a Zoom problem or a surface problem?

Anyone else have a similar issue and fixed it?

    i did your recommendation Marion, but it did not help on Zoom...my kid is in the middle of examination in Algebra this surface pro 7 freezes and she can not continue and we have to use my wifes iphone to continue. Then turn on again it works for a little bit then freezes again....this gave me a headache.

    please advise, because it seems the iphone is better than this surface pro 7

    i will goback to Best Buy for any recommendation i f i can return this surface pro 7.

    Hi,

      Do you ever find the solution?  I am in tears nearly every day trying to teach my students but my brand new surface pro 7 is freezing completely and everything becomes nonresponsive.  Help! :(

    There is no solution :(

    The surface pro hardware is not capable of handling a Zoom meeting and actions on your computer..

    Thank you for letting me know.  I have been to Best Buy 3 times. They replaced my Surface Pro and I went back and asked them if it's just not compatible for what I need it to do.  They assured me it should be fine and it's the school's wifi.  At first I thought it was Google Meet...then I thought it was my school's Wifi...but I just tried Zoom and it happened again, 4 times today in the middle of math lessons.  So it has to be either the school WIFI or the surface.  Thoughts?  I have an 8G with an i5 processor.  Would a better processor and more memory be better or should I go with something completely different? :(.
