Surface Pro 7 randomly freezes while using the Zoom app

Brand new surface pro for about 2 weeks and I've experienced some random freezes while using the Zoom teaching app. For some reason, each time this happens the audio continues to work but nothing on the surface screen or keyboard is responsive and I'm forced to shutdown and restart each time. Support recommended that I run a recovery tool but that didn't do anything to fix my problem. Does this sound like more of a Zoom problem or a surface problem?

Anyone else have a similar issue and fixed it?

    Hello,

After more than 100 replies, what to I see:

    1. SP7 has an issue...
    2. The issue is NOT Zoom related but ANY conference call software has the issue.
    3. Something Internal must be broken. Is it a chipset issue? is it a driver issue? A PCI express issue? A camera Issue? Nevertheless, this tablet has a internal basic issue that creates real troubles
    4. Microsoft gives no answer

If you buy a car and there is a general problem with the GPU, they call back tens of thousand of cars to fix the issue!

Why does Microsoft not try to fix this issue?

As we are hundreds/thousands to have this issue, what can we do? Today, I can't use this machine anymore and I'm using a 7 years old laptop without any issue for Zoom... 7 years OLD! I had troubles with customers during remote presentations. Customer didn't come back to me after that...   They probably think that i'm unable to use basic technology so how can I be trusted for complex one?

I'm really upset. I was a real promoter of Surface but now, it's the opposite.

Issues can happen, technology may fail, code might be buggy but good companies tries to help customers to fix issues and keep their good reputation...  Here it's the opposite. SP7 is **** and they continue to sell ...

BTW: on all my other machines I tried Zoom, GPU usage is around 3 to 15%... This is clearly a deep bug in SP7

I found that the ethernet cable was the problem.   The network adapter is ****.  Everything runs fine on WiFi now.

I've found that using an Ethernet was the problem.   Fine just on WiFi.

MrSamGray, Too late now, i already bought Macbook Pro 1TB for myself and IPAD PRO 256G (mac os not ipad os) for my daughter, its been great for her and no more issues.

My SP7 still at home and can not be returned so we are using as alternate for my son’s HP laptop.

I will check MS laptop next time.

I don't think you need to switch to Apple.. I switched to surface laptop and it's been great.
