Surface Pro 7 randomly freezes while using the Zoom app

Brand new surface pro for about 2 weeks and I've experienced some random freezes while using the Zoom teaching app. For some reason, each time this happens the audio continues to work but nothing on the surface screen or keyboard is responsive and I'm forced to shutdown and restart each time. Support recommended that I run a recovery tool but that didn't do anything to fix my problem. Does this sound like more of a Zoom problem or a surface problem?

Anyone else have a similar issue and fixed it?

    Marion,

i did your recommendation Marion, but it did not help on Zoom...my kid is in the middle of examination in Algebra this surface pro 7 freezes and she can not continue and we have to use my wifes iphone to continue. Then turn on again it works for a little bit then freezes again....this gave me a headache.

please advise, because it seems the iphone is better than this surface pro 7

i will goback to Best Buy for any recommendation i f i can return this surface pro 7.

    Same here...

    The bad news...

It appears the surface pro hardware is just not good enough..

    Hi MattC12

I have had this same thing happen with both Zoom and Teams. No solutions so far, but I don't think it's isolated to Zoom.

I am having the same issue.  Teaching and need the whiteboard and/or share screen to write on.  I can tell when it is about to go out because the writing goes from "smooth" to very "sketchy."  I then look at the images and everyone is "frozen" but the can hear me!  Everything is frozen and I have to hold down the power button to shut everything down.  Once it restarts and I get back to everyone, it may only work for a moment and then repeats the error and process.  I do notice that the computer is very warm when this happens.  I also make sure that I only have Zoom running, the gmail google docs that holds the assignments, and the downloaded worksheet being used for the lesson.

I bought my Pro 7 in April and it has an Intel processor:  Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-1035G4 CPU @ 1.10GHz  1.50 GHz

So switching it out due to the AMD vs Intel processor doesn't seem like a fix for me.  Any suggestions?
