Surface Pro 7 randomly freezes while using the Zoom app

Brand new surface pro for about 2 weeks and I've experienced some random freezes while using the Zoom teaching app. For some reason, each time this happens the audio continues to work but nothing on the surface screen or keyboard is responsive and I'm forced to shutdown and restart each time. Support recommended that I run a recovery tool but that didn't do anything to fix my problem. Does this sound like more of a Zoom problem or a surface problem?

Anyone else have a similar issue and fixed it?

The only option that works for me is to share screen and use the Microsoft whiteboard app. Hasn't froze this way.

    Hi!

I had no issues with my Macbook Air (2011).  The Surface Pro 7 would work sometimes, but other times it was HORRIBLE.  Froze, overheated, couldn't do anything but hit the power button.  I even took the first one back and Best Buy gave me a brand new one and it did the same thing.  It happened with Google Meet AND Zoom.  A coworker just got one and he is experiencing similar issues.  I even tested it out at home on my Wifi and it did the same thing, so had nothing to do with the Wifi connection.

I highly recommend returning the Surface Pro 7 IF you can!  I went back and Best Buy took back my 2nd Surface Pro 7 and I bought an Asus 15.6 inch 4k touch screen (Q537).  It has only been a week in school and I have had NO issues.  I loved the Surface Pro 7 but I bought it for the purpose of online math teaching through Google Meet or Zoom where I have to continuously share my screen to write out problems etc.

I have a Surface Pro i5, and I am teaching on zoom with mp4 film clips.  I also have a very good hi-speed internet connection.  My computer is up to date.  However, when I am  the SURFACE PRO, PC, my mp4 clips are definitely lagging and at times freezing when I work on ZOOM with the PC.   I am also working with a split screen so I can show clips while I have something else up on the screen for students to see.   However, and this is the mystery, when I use my MAC laptop, the clips are working just fine.  I want to use the Surface Pro to teach, but can't because of the lagging.  Can I do anything to fix this?

Wow. I was wondering if an i7 and 16GB in the surface pro 7 would be better but guess not!

Yesterday I exchanged my surface pro 7 for an Asus 15” 4k touchscreen laptop with i7 and 16gb. If this does the same thing, I may quit teaching and open up a chick fil a 😂🤦‍♀️

I am seeing the freeze problem especialy when I share content in zoom, especially the white board. I have the i7 version with 16GB of RAM so it shouldn't be a performance issue. However, it is very annoying and disappointing.
