Fingerprint reader stopped working with Surface Pro 3 after anniversary update

I am using a Surface Pro 4 typepad cover on a Surface Pro 3. Ever since the Windows 10 anniversary update, the fingerprint reader does not work when I turn on the Surface, unless I detach and reattach the typepad cover. The keyboard and mouse work fine - the only problem is with the fingerprint reader.

I tried checking drivers, but the Windows says they are up to date.

Hi all

I fixed this annoying glitch by following the first two steps outlined here:

Not sure if either or both were required.

Hope it helps.

Don't install the updated driver program it is loaded with rubbish that installs on your machine.

The lastest driver is garbage. If you managed to get it to work, i would monitor how long it stays working. I suspect within a few days you won't be able to use yout fingerprint.

Since the Fall Creators Update, there is only the 2.2.11.0 Driver available. Can´t go back to the 2.2.10.8 Driver. But it even works now, with the Backlight activated.

Maybe this keeps the TouchCover active?!
