Agreed.. I'm outraged that, after careful financial consideration, I parted with $800 for this device and within the year, the kickstand broke with the slightest tap. (It rarely travels, and is used primarily 4 days a week for business/desk use). This
is not made to withstand even one 'drop' on a desk. :( And to charge me $300 on top of the original purchase price to replace the whole back??!??? And to boot, the next model was retailing for either the same amount, or even less, right after I purchased
this. As much as this is a nifty item, not having a kickstand makes it almost useless for me. I also have the attachable keyboard, bc touch-keyboard is useless to me and I need an actual keyboard for a business program I have installed on it. I purchased
this rather than a tablet, bc I needed an actual hard drive to download my program.
So very disappointed in Microsoft's 'answer' to the problem and not backing this horribly made product. It's almost an admission to poor workmanship and quality, when the next model had an "improved kickstand". You'd think they would do something to
maintain customer loyalty after realizing that the kickstand on the SP2 was defective and weak. I'm a responsible 49 yr old woman, no animals, no kids & I take good care of my electronics & anything else I pay my hard-earned money for. I still have my orig
ipod, for pete's sake... and I keep cell phones for 4 years, at least. So, it's not due to lack of responsibility on my part. MICROSOFT, please offer a REASONABLE solution/replacement option for this nuisance problem. STAND BEHIND YOUR PRODUCT QUALITY
and maintain customer loyalty and product satisfaction.
