I have seen this with Apple products before. It was related to the adhesion process for the screen. It might need to be replaced. I would take it into the Msft store or call for service and see what they say. Please backup all critical data before sending in.
Yellow tinting on left and right edges of screen
Just got my new Surface Pro 128gb. The screen's left and right edges have yellow-tinted lines on them. The lower-right corner is particularly noticeable, especially on while backgrounds. Found one reference online of such a thing and the guy had his replaced. Bought mine at Staples online. What are my options?

Sorry to hear about your Surface! Have you been able to get your device exchanged?
If not, here are two options you can try:
- Contact our Technical Support team.

Hi Joseph Benamy,
Thank you for reaching out to us and taking the time to consult with the Microsoft Community about the issue both you and your dad have been experiencing with each Surface. As a fellow traveler, I can understand your concern, especially considering it happened to both devices. We will do our best to help and guide you in the right direction!
Voltage from the AC outlet or electromagnetic interference shouldn’t be a cause to this problem, taking into consideration that the Surface Pro supports 110/120v and 220/240v, it will run on any voltage between these values and the only thing that you might need, depending on what country you are in Asia, is a plug converter.
For this reason, if the lines don’t disappear, we highly recommend you visit our Self Service Center here or contact Support here.
Additionally, please find the instructions on how to back up your files here.
We hope this information is useful! If you have any other questions or concerns please don’t hesitate to ask!
We are always here to help!
Cheers,
It's not normal get it replaced, I wouldn't just ignore it as it could get worse as time goes on.
If you are in the US, you can go to a physical retail Microsoft Store. They will
most likely charge you $450 - $700 for an out of warranty replacement for an original Surface Pro (if they even have them available). They MAY give you a trade allowance against a new model Surface, though.
I wish I had better options to give you, sorry.
Hi,
We suggest that you get in touch with our Surface support. If you are seeking a customer service phone number in other country, you can contact our Global Customer Service.

2013-03-26T04:55:35+00:00 Thanks. I returned mine to the retailer I bought it from (Staples) and picked up a new one at the Microsoft Store (just so I have a brick and mortar to return to in case anything goes south again).
