Connecting surface earbuds to two devices

Is it possible, if using an android phone and a surface book to connect the earbuds similitaniously to each of those devices?

Having the surface audio app installed on both devices, it's still hard to quickly change audio between the phone and the laptop.

    Microsoft,

Frankly, I feel in love with the quality of these buds and the sounds they produce. The controls and the feel of them and especially how they lock in the ears with that twist is phenomenal. With such a great product why do we have this limitation of 1 active device at a time.

I connected these buds to Surface Laptop and my Samsung Galaxy S10. But shuffling between these two devices is a pain. Please fix this so I can recommend these great buds to others.

I am massively bummed on this.

I just got mine now, connected them to my phone and Surface - but only one at a time.

I want my phone connected for phone calls, and connected to my surface for work.

    This sux.

I agree. Having just received the earbubs the process for switching between devices is a real pain and only being connected to one device is a seriously limiting factor and out of line with most high end devices. I can't really rate or recommend this product with such an obvious flaw. And incidentally there is no option to toggle following the above instructions, just a list of devices which I can't change. This approach would also need you to be paired with your phone which kind of misses the point.

    Hi Marrion,

yeah, the way of changing the device is really inconvenient. I can change from surface to phone via the surface audio app on the phone or pc. If I want to change back I can't use the app on either device. I have to disconnect the earbuds from the phone by turning off bluetooth to have them pair to the surface again via the surface audio app on my pc. It's kind of time wasting.

If this will be fixed soon with an update, I'd be quite happy.

I'm guessing a lot of users are switching between pc and phone quite often in their daily life, and having trouble connecting to those devices in a short matter of time is a pitty.

    Hi Lux41,

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Community.

Surface Earbuds can be paired up to 7 devices but it can only be actively used on 1 device at a time which is your last paired device if it is in range. Otherwise, it will pair to the device in the order you have last used. You may also control which device will be used by going to the Surface Audio app > Device Setting > Paired devices. You will have the list of devices that was paired with your Surface Earbuds and you'll have the option to toggle which device will be connected.
