Surface Pro 4 Screen Flickers

I have the same problem as many other Microsoft users (summarized below)

What is Microsoft's solution to resolve the Surface Pro 4 flickering screen?

ISSUE

Due to the pandemic, I now need to work remotely and use this Surface for 8 or more hours each day.  The first full day was a surprise when my screen started flickering.  I see that Microsoft knew about this issue and arranged to extend the warranty to 3 years.  Unfortunately, my Surface Pro 4 is just past the 3 years.  I feel that since my Surface was registered when I bought it that Microsoft should have notified me that my Surface was in the batch of known hardware defects.  Had I known about this issue, I would have taken care of this issue immediately.  Instead, I was left to discover this on my own over time.  Now, Microsoft support has offered to replace my Surface with a used certified Surface for an additional $599.99 with only a 90 day warranty.  I don't really want to spend an additional $599.99 but I will if I have to so I can continue to get some work done.  I have 2 issues with this, one is that Microsoft had my contact information from my registered device and never contacted me to say I had this known hardware issue and second is that after I spend $599.99 I will get a used device with only a 90 warranty.

1) What is Microsoft's resolution to this?

2) How do we implement the solution during the COVID-19 crisis?

Microsoft knew about the screen flickering issue on Pro 4 and arranged to extend the warranty to 3 years.

My surface Pro 4 really works well for me. Just the screen flickering problem stop me from continue my works.

Microsoft should take up the responsibility to inform all the registered users since Microsoft knew that this is a major problem to their users.

    Hope Microsoft will take action.

Microsoft should honor all repairs with this surface pro 4's flickering issue, especially when it seems it did not attempt to notify existing owners of the issue. It is a poor way to conduct business and although I love my Surface Pro 4 and it worked for me for a few years, I cannot buy Microsoft products ever again. my next laptop will be  Dell. I am sure they will take a loss on future business from all dissatisfied users of the Surface Pro 4.

I think we should all start a flickergate recall-replace campaign otherwise they will keep ignoring us. Microsoft is huge. Why they would treat loyal customers like this is beyond me. Let us all hashtag it non-stop till they listen. Where is someone to get 600 dollars from in this pandemic to get a used machine?? Even if you had cash to throw around, it is their mistake! They need to own up to it and keep their otherwise good name.

It is terrible customer service on microsofts part, mine started doing the flickering within a year, took it to the best buy i got it from and they said there was nothing wrong with it and sent me home with no solutions. the year warranty expired a week later. by the time microsoft decided to do anything about it and there was any information about it 3 years had expired and not they want $600 to give me a used computer that i already paid $1200 for and expected to work? they need to own up to the defect and replace it.

I agree completely -  come  on Microsoft, own up to the issue and fix it. The damage to your reputation will end up costing you significantly more than fixing the problem.  How many customers do you want to switch to Apple PCs?
