Surface Dock USB ports not working - Dock Updater repeatedly fails

I have Surface book 13.5, and Surface Dock. USB ports on the dock are not working.

Running Surface Dock updater says I need to power cycle the dock, although I already did it several times.

Event viewer reports error code 12105, with message: "Failed to update USB hub firmware."

    Hi

Unfortunately, although the troubleshooter found some issues, none of these were related to the dock update. Even after restarting the laptop, I still get the message to power cycle the dock, repeatedly.

What else can we do? Let me know if you need some system info.

    Hi,

The update may be running into a problem because of an underlying issue with Windows Update. To find possible corruptions with the Windows Update components, run the troubleshooter from this page. The tool also restarts the services responsible for carrying out the update process. After running the troubleshooter, restart your Surface and try updating the Surface Dock again.

Let us know if you need further assistance.

    Regards.
