Surface Pro 7 display brightness does not chage

Hi,

Anyone has the same issue as me?

When I change brightness with keyboard it does change to 30-50% only (no visible change).

When changing in side swipe, with touch it allows me to change 0%-100% (no visible change)

I tried with nigh mode off... no change

Tried windows setting ... no change

Ambient light On/Off... no change

Can anyone help?

    Thanks for the response.  Hopefully it doesn't happen again, but if it does and this simple fix doesn't work i'll re-post.

    I tried this for a different issue I had with the display but it didn't work the second time around neither did it work for this so this might only be a 1 time use solution.

    Great fix, worked for me!  Not sure of the origin of the low brightness/no adjustment issue however...would be good to know.

    Hello, if you check the surface pro 7 update history, in the January 30th update there is one update that should have fixed the problems with display brightness. Please check that you have installed all the latest updates and if so, run the surface diagnostic toolkit to make sure no system files corruption are causing your issues.

    Why after nearly a year there's still no official fix for this bug?

    Sure, restarting the computer fixes the problem for once. But I don't want to restart it every time the bug occurs!
