We are aware that customers using Surface Pro X were having issues using the built-in cameras and we have resolved this issue with a driver update.   Please go to Windows Update to install the new driver named Microsoft Corporation – System Hardware Update – 5/26/2023.

I'm afraid it's qualcom driver certificate. Microsoft probably does not have code to compile and sign. Now it's about Microsoft hunting Qualcom .... Than sanity and quality check .... Well few weeks could be a good time. We are doomed.

It is also a good time to release new firmware update for other components. Last firmware update for SQ1 and SQ2 processors was in October 2022.

When can we expect a patch to fix this mess ?

Do you understand the lost of communication and business with clients, staff and providers when cameras are off in a world of remote work using Teams, Zoom and Google Meet ?

Everything is stuck due to some stupid basic error from your organization.

    Thanks for your quick response,

Come on Microsoft. I am a big fan of the Surface line and although sometimes a bit buggy, my Surface Pro X is still my work station of choice. It even got my collegues jealous during Covid-times due to its perfect features for home office.

The slip with the licence running out is one thing, but not responding in adequate time is another. I am pretty sure that a lot of us are using the Surface for work and especially collaborating via Teams. I work for a big telco here in Switzerland an be assured, we would certainly react much faster here (anyways, good to see that even the bigger tech companies have their troubles).

When will you roll out a fix? Get it done!
