cameras are not working on my Surface PRO X device. [Answered]

Error code 0xA00F4271<MediaCaptureFailedEvent> (0x80004005).

I've run trough the Get Help App on my device but after following all the steps camera is still not running.

Any help?

We are aware that customers using Surface Pro X were having issues using the built-in cameras and we have resolved this issue with a driver update.   Please go to Windows Update to install the new driver named Microsoft Corporation – System Hardware Update – 5/26/2023.

    -Right click the clock in the bottom right corner and select "Adjust Date & Time."

    -Toggle "Set time automatically" to off. This should be at the top.

    -"Set the date and time manually" a few lines down should become ungreyed. Click on "Change."
    -From there, you can roll it back to whichever date you wish.

    According to recent online articles the challenge phrase for Windows 11 is A1B2C3 followed by your password. Follow the prompts, but even that has caused problems, too. Good luck!

    Well, setting the date manually back to April, but as stated before, the incorrect date interferes with date/time sensitive web sites or apps. Chrome immediately started blockin my email web site, and I was unable to access a travel message board. Any software/web site that tracks the date.

    So, when I want to use the camera, I have to manually adjust the date back, use Zoom, and then correct the date to auomatic to use other apps or web sites.

    Annoying, but doable in the short term. Of course not too doable for people that are in and out of video conferencing all day.

    By the way, I was on another message board, and this problem is also affecting other (if not all) Surface models, not just the X.
