We are aware that customers using Surface Pro X were having issues using the built-in cameras and we have resolved this issue with a driver update.   Please go to Windows Update to install the new driver named Microsoft Corporation – System Hardware Update – 5/26/2023.

Manually setting the clock to an inaccurate date is unethical and would violate auditing policies. I need to justify date / time for billing and oversight purposes for my business, so to change the date on the machine would be not only unethical but pose an administrative burden.

The cure here is worse than the disease. MS Legal should know this.

I have the same issue. I have just done a full clean install of Windows, reset to factory settings, and full Windows update, after trying everything else listed in the support checklist, and nothing. This is so frustrating, as like others I use my Pro X for business use. @microsoft please sort this out!

OH MY GOODNESS! The issue 'solved' by rolling the time and date back 1 month. This in not a suitable patch, but clearly shows it is a Microsoft issue.

I can confirm rolling back the date as I have seen in this thread switches the camera back on.
