We are aware that customers using Surface Pro X were having issues using the built-in cameras and we have resolved this issue with a driver update.   Please go to Windows Update to install the new driver named Microsoft Corporation – System Hardware Update – 5/26/2023.

I am having the same exact issue starting on the same day. I completely reset the system to factory default with no resolve. As with most Surface Pro X users, this is my work pc I use for teams and zoom meetings multiple times per day. This is a major issue.

Jeremy thank you for the update and your included instruction works and I am able to sign in with Windows Hello. I still haven't got any issues so far. I know it will take sometimes for the permanent fix to come and it took a little bit more than a day from when issues were first notice.

Right now the very least Microsoft Leadership can do right now is to come out and publicly apologize preferably jointly with hardware manufacturer.

I will miss the Surface Pro X experience that I could just open it up to work anywhere without having to worry about wifi and power socket. I decided that my next laptop will be MacBook Air+iPad Mini 5G. It’s a small price to pay for having two reliable devices instead of one beautiful yet unstable device.

My surface pro x is still in good condition, so Microsoft still has time to convince me otherwise. I doubt it very much that they will be able to do anything based on current set of behaviors. I rely on my computer for a lot of things, when I thought it might be broken I had to ask for cash advance from my bank to pay for the out warranty exchange, money Microsoft will be taking their sweet 45 days refunding it.
