My Surface Headphones 2 have recently begun randomly disconnecting from my phone and saying "Your Surface Headphones are ready to pair. Go into Bluetooth settings....". The message is very long (15-30 seconds) and prevents audio from playing, not to mention the disconnecting from my phone. This is a huge problem in the middle of a meeting.
I am not the only one to experience this issue (see this reddit thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/Surface/comments/n4mc6a/surface_headphones_2_go_into_pairing_mode_and/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3 ) Is there any word from Microsoft on this issue?

Same issue here and same timelines as everyone else... This is super annoying especially in the middle of a call!
Microsoft you need to get your act together!
Already it is bad design that the headphones voice instruction completely cover the sound instead of partially covering it but this issue makes it even more unbearable!
I have Surface headphones running on my Surface studiio 2.
As of the latest update I have been having constant problems with the headphones disconnecting and then reconnecting randomly throughout the day. No apparent cause, used the bluetooth wizard helper etc but nothing solved the issue.
Then while looking through my installed app list I spotted Skype an application I had removed well over a year ago. Windows update had re-installed it (along with a bunch of other **** I didn't want !! .. stop doing that Microsoft !!).
Deleting Skype completely solved the issue, surface headphones now working as intended with no drop-outs or disconnection.
You can try uninstalling Surface Audio app if you have it installed or disable it's permission to run in background.
I figured this out! You need to go to device manager, show hidden devices in view then under bluetooth remove all of the copies of surface headphones (there are probably many of them somehow) or other variations like "le surface headphones" then repair them to your pc.
Good call on this. I reformatted both my PCs and reset my Surface Headphones and no longer have the issue either. I'll keep this in mind if it happens to me again.
