Unable to configure my Exchange email in Surface mail program

Did you try entering your details in the people app instead?

I have an active escalated service ticket. They've told me that it's a "known issue" and that they are "working on a resolution."

I've been trying to get exchange going for 2 days now.... on the phone with microsoft for best part of yesterday... and gave up in the end.... I'm Not really IT savy.. They did copy a certificate yesterday but still not working.....

Anyone with step by step instructions would be great... seem to have tried all the post's (ideas) but no luck still.

That's a great analogy but we are not talking the fuel that runs the machine. If we were talking about the processor you would be dead on. We are talking how you maintain and operate the machine. The oil filter purpose is to filter out ****, what filter you use is not common across all cars. So what works in one model will not work in another. That is all I am pointing out. I am not interested in being part of the Borg, wearing the same grey suit or eating the same slop as everyone else. I use, support and curse all platforms equally. None are perfect and each has their place. If you like an iPad so much, why are you looking for something new and exciting on a Surface? It (iPad, Droid or whatever) must have a short coming and you are looking for it here. OR maybe we just love the challenge, whatever the case I am not promoting one over the other, just trying to help share what worked for me in hopes someone finds it useful, saves them some time and any frustrations on understanding how to operate their new car....lol. Thanks.

I too experienced frustration in the initial setup, but have identified the steps required to get it to work. It is, IMHO, unfair to compare a iPhone, Droid or Surface when installing or going through setup in some areas. Remember, this is a MS product and MS rules apply. We should not compare how to go about changing the oil on a Jet Ski to changing the oil on a VW TDI. Sometimes the experience with one doesn't apply to the other; like we dispose of the oil the same, but the filter we use is different if one is used at all.

 

 

 

Totally disagree. The Surface is a direct competitor to iPad, and that's obvious. It contains the exact same entry fields for setting up email as with all those other devices. If you want to use your vehicle analogy, it's like buying a car that takes different gas than every other car on the market...then expecting you to work with your gas station to figure out a solution.
