The same issue has developed on BOTH of my surface Pro 4's since the last major update. One is out of warranty one is still under warranty. Both I need for my business so I'm in the same tough spot as you. I can't believe this is a coincidence.
Screen flicker and ghosting
My surface pro 4 developed a horizontal line across the top of the screen, and then ghsot windows appeared of closed boxes during use, to the extent where the screen became unreadable and a restart was needed.
My device warranty expired in April, and i understand that MS doesn't do anything except replace the device if there's an issue, so my question is, without a warranty, what is there to do? I can't believe that after a year, a device that costs as much as a top-end laptop, brakes and has to be thrown away.
Anyone had any similar issues and found solutions?
HELP!!
Thanks

2017-06-23T05:20:12+00:00 Hi,
Thanks for the update link, however my device is set to automatically check for updates, and so it shouldn't need a manual input to that should it? I had already checked for updates, and had the latest Creative update to windows 10, but i downloaded the files as you suggested, but the problem with ghosting is still present.
The device works for about an hour or two before this starts to happen, so not sure if it's related to software more than hardware.
So now, as i write this, the ghosting has started again, and i've been working relatively trouble-free for a couple of hours up to now.
Also, a quick point, just before the ghosting of the windows starts to happen, a line appears across the very top of the screen - i've tried taking a screenshot of this, but as it's so close to the top, it isn't captured in the clipping. As soon as this line appears, the rest of the problems soon follow; so there must be a relationship.
What's next?

2017-06-27T05:43:16+00:00 I have the exact same problem but mine is only six months old. The issue has gotten progessively worse and now the ghosting happens within an hour of operating and becomes usable. The problem is that I'm 8 weeks into a 12 month trip in Africa (currently in Ethiopia) and was using it for blogging, photo-back up and video editing, none of which I can now do.
I'd previously contacted Microsoft who instructed me to delete and redownload the display drivers from a specific link but this didn't work. So now my £1700 machine I bought in December last year is almost useless.
I really need to get this sorted as that money was a large chunk of my travel budget. I appreciate that a public forum isn't an ideal way to get this solved so if you could contact me via email, that would be great.
