Is anyone else having issues with the on screen keyboard for your Surface Pro 3 after the Windows 10 update? When I go to tablet mode an enter an app, the on screen keyboard will not pop up. An example is in the weather app. When I touch the field to input a city name, the on screen keyboard is nowhere to be found. I have to connect the type cover back to my Pro 3.
Any suggestions on this? Thanks.

Thank you for sharing your experiences with Windows 10 on our Surface.
Regarding the onscreen keyboard, the information I have is that, by design, you must manually open the onscreen keyboard by selecting the keyboard from the taskbar.
MODERATOR EDIT: If you don't see the icon, right-click (or press and hold) the taskbar and make sure the Show touch keyboard button has a check mark next to it.

can't figure out how to get my on-screen keyboard to come back on/up after installing Windows 10.
Give an example of how you think you need it. Do you have your Surface in Tablet mode? Do you have a pen? You could go to the Windows Ease of Access item in the All Apps menu (hence obscurely listed under the W) and open the On Screen Keyboard (OSK). Then provided you never close it but at most only Minimize it you will always be able to access the OSK via the Task pane (e.g. with a swipe from the left and a tap on that thumbnail)

You can certainly get a Touch Keyboard. The question is: Will it be the OSK (the Desktop window which osk.exe runs in) or will it be the TK (the Modern UI version of the the Tablet PC's TIP)? Right now the latter always comes up as the Handwriting input panel and would need to be switched to a keyboard view if that is what you would prefer--each time.
As for logging in you could try creating a PIN for your account and then you would always have the option of opening the Touch Numeric keypad for that.
The solution to get that icon back was already posted on this thread. Right click on the notifications bar at the bottom and click "show touch keyboard button" so it is checked. :)

Thanks but no thanks. I had the PIN etc but had to use the OSK from the Ease of Access menu because the numeric pad wasn't coming up. I could the OSK in other programs but it isn't auto pop up and it isn't as convenient.
I know I am being stubborn but with all of the problems stacked up including the major battery issue which isn't resolved yet, it was easier to get back to 8.1. Of course that has brought it's own issues as the roll back is not bullet proof. However I have most of everything back and all of the important stuff that let's me use this as a tablet...since is it well a tablet...;)
