After setting up our preferred digital assistant is there a way to change it to another?

What is the point of the UI to pick the digital assistant if the surface audio app is supposed to use the devices default?

I've tried all of which you have suggested, but nothing seems to work.

It appears that the assistant I chose in the surface audio app overrides any default one.

I've reset multiple times and its always the one I choose in the surface audio app. It doesn't matter if I change the default at any time.

    Hello, Brian Morse!

We're sorry for the delayed response. You have completed the steps above for Android and set up Google as your digital assistant, however, when you tap and hold, you hear that Cortana talks to you. Is that right? Do you happen to have another Android phone that you can try as well?

In the meantime, kindly perform the following on to your Surface Earbuds.

    • Make sure that your smartphone has the most recent updates installed, be it the Operating System and any apps installed with it.
    • Place the earbuds back in the charging case for about 20 minutes, then try checking if there's an update needed.

Please visit this page to be guided on how to Update Surface Earbuds.

    • If it is still not allowing Google as your default digital assistant, try to disconnect and reconnect the earbuds again via the Surface Audio app.
    • If the issue is still present, kindly Reset Surface Earbuds.
    • If all else fails, please reinstall the Surface Audio app.

Let us know how it goes.

    Regards,

    Janette_Z
