After setting up our preferred digital assistant is there a way to change it to another?

Originally, I chose cortana as the surface audio apps default, but the default was Google.

I've reset multiple times and it seems the Surface audio app overrides any default assistant.

    Hi again, Brian Morse!

Just to be clear, your default assistant in the device's settings is Google and you choose that in the Surface Audio app. However, when you tap and hold the earbuds, Cortana still comes up. Right? No matter what steps you take, Cortana still takes over when you use it via the earbuds.

Any further details would greatly help.

    Regards,

What is the point of the UI to pick the digital assistant if the surface audio app is supposed to use the devices default?

I've tried all of which you have suggested, but nothing seems to work.

It appears that the assistant I chose in the surface audio app overrides any default one.

I've reset multiple times and its always the one I choose in the surface audio app. It doesn't matter if I change the default at any time.
