I had an issue this morning where Surface couldn't find any wifi networks (when 5 were in the area) and it was connected the previous night. I solved this issue by searching windows rt for Network. Open Network Connections, find the wifi device and then disable this connection. After a minute - I re-enabled the connection and then it started to work.
Just wanted to share my experience if anyone runs into the same issue. Thanks!

Thank you for your continued interest, feedback and assistance in investigating the Limited WiFi issue on the Surface.
Not all limited connectivity scenarios have solutions that can be controlled by the Wi-Fi drivers of a given device. Limited connectivity scenarios result from a complex interaction of device Wi-Fi drivers, access point firmware, access point configuration, and other environmental factors.
If following the steps in the provided links below fail to resolve your Wi-Fi issue I encourage you to create a new thread.

You will most likely have to do a REFRESH. Most of us has had to do that. For some reason or another the driver gets corrupted. You may also do a trick that most others have done as well as long as you don't have the 8.1 Preview of Windows 8 RT installed.
That trick is to open the Control Panel and go do Device Manager. Look for the Marvel WiFi adapter and "Uninstall" the driver but "DO NOT DELETE IT". When finished, reboot the tablet and it should connect.
Try that trick first and if it doesn't work, then do a REFRESH.

Sorry to hear you are having problems connecting to WiFi.
You should be able to connect to WiFi. Are you getting any errors when trying to connect? Are you able to see the networks and not connect to them?

2013-03-04T23:28:44+00:00 Well isn't all great and dandy. How nice for everyone to be able to download updates and restart things and generally creep along with a vague sense of annoyance. I however am the holder of an expensive brick of corporate malfeasance. So.. I can't connect to the WIFI hotspot from the macbook pro here in the office (just happens to be the only laptop here and the only thing capable of broadcasting WIFI from the ADSL2 connection). The connection protocols are the same, everything should work but it doesn't.. I chalk it up to well, being a microsoft/mac issue. I go home and try and plug in my usb modem to install firmware updates. Oh of course I forgot that won't work it's a tablet, it's not like my other windows machines.. Ok ok.. Let's try making my Galaxy S3 a WIFI hotspot.. let's try WPA.. let's try open and unsecured.. limited connection.. turn on airplane mode and off again.. forget connections restart restart restart.. limited limited limited. I don't live near a Starbucks.. these are my connection options. I CANNOT CONNECT TO THE INTERNET. Apparently there isn't even a USB firmware update so It looks like i'm up the creek without a paddle. I'll try the unofficial command prompt fix next but this is seriously BS. If I didn't absolutely need this to test site compatibility as it inexorably takes a few percentage of marketshare and people whine about sites not displaying properly it would be sent straight back or thrown in the bin. Seriously. If the mactards can manage it why in **** can't Microsoft.
