Wireless Display Adapter Disconnects

I have a new MS wireless display adapter plugged into my TV (HDMI and USB plug). Also a new Surface pro 3. After a short period of time, it just disconnects. Especially when watching a movie.  The audio/video gets choppy for a bit and then it disconnects. I'm about 10-12 feet away.

Installed wireless adapter app from windows store, but that didn't help.

The wireless internet router sits on the same table next to the TV. I moved it a couple feet away and was then able to watch the entire movie without it disconnecting.  Maybe that was it.

I totally agree with you that if you bring close to the router it will work fine. A wireless network router has a limited broadcast range. The further the computer is from the router, the weaker the broadcast signal. Solid objects, such as walls, metal furniture, and electrical appliances might interfere with the signal and decrease the usable range.

Where does a "wireless network router " have any relevance when discussing the Microsoft Display Adapter?

Isn't a point to point wifi connection established from the displaying device to the adapter?

The display adapter does not use your wireless internet router.  I believe a direct wifi connection is established from your PC to the display adapter.

Potentially it was a wifi interference issue??  or loose cable?

I feel sorry, but Ramesh has not been of any help since the beginning of this thread.  All his answers are irrelevant to our issue.

Even if he is a Ms Support Engineer he doesn't seem to understand our issue at all.  I'm not sure he even know what is the "Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter".
