    Hi,

Thank you for sharing the information. Good to hear that your issue get resolved by its own. It might be the Windows updates which get installed in the background, which might contain some updates related to network connection. Installation of these updates might fixed the issue.

First try to install all of the Windows updates available and if issue persists, try to update the Network Adapter drivers by following the steps provided in the article mentioned below.

**How to: Install and Update drivers in Windows 10**

If issue still persists, then install the drivers for Windows 8/8.1 from the manufacturer's website in compatibility mode and check if that works.

Make older programs compatible with this version of Windows

Hope this would help. If issue still persists post back with current status of your computer and result of the proposed suggestion, we will be happy to assist you.

    Good afternoon,

I was having similar disconnection issues with Microsoft Wireless Display adapter. My wife and I both own Surface Pro 2 (128 and 256Gb version respectively).

I tried many tricks found in the forum like changing wifi  band, shutting down bluetooth, etc. What solved the problem was using an external source (other than the projector and/or the TV) to power the adaptor (like a usb apadtor that plugs into a wall outlet (a good one, not a cheap one). I guess some TV or projectors have problem having stable power via usb . For me and my wife It solved the disconnection problem.

I noticed it while travelling and trying it at the hotel. Some TV usb were working fine, others were having problems.

I also resolved a connection issue with my wife by reinstalling her network card drivers (I deleted them then rebooted and I let Windows reinstall them automatically).

We are both using Windows 10 and the display adapter has the latest firmware installed.

    Hope it helps!

    Regards.

After one month of unpredictable presentations I switched to using a Chromecast instead, with no more disconnects. Now, more than six months later the Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter hangs unused on the back of my TV.

From time to time as updates get pushed out to my Surface Pro 3, I try again to use my MS Wireless display adapter. It connects for no more than three minutes, then I hear the system noise indicating a hardware change. At that moment, repeated so many many times, it is apparent I will never get $60 worth of use from it.

Even though the Chromecast says it is experimental, the full screen display of my $30 Chromecast just works, every time, and has the advantage in many cases because it will continue streaming even when my Surface Pro 3 goes to sleep.

    Edit...

SurfacePro3_Win10_151026_2.msi did the trick. Download it, use device manager to delete the Marvel Avastar wireless adapter. Reboot. Run the downloaded file. Reboot.

I have just enjoyed my first uninterrupted hour of wireless display.
