Wireless Display Adapter Disconnects

Hi,

I'd like to put in my experience.  I've purchased a handful of these device, and connected them to a few TVs in our office.  We seem to see about a 30 min time of perfect operation, then disconnect and unable to reconnect quickly after that.  Even deleting the device and re-installing does not allow reconnect.  We don't use this a lot, but so far the same scenario has happened every time.  I hope MS figures it out and fixes it soon.

From reading here I'm thinking the MS adapter uses open frequencies that are unfortunately allowed to accept interference and trouble.  I hope this isn't true.  Because, otherwise this seems like a great device.

Only the Wireless Display Adapter is disconnecting.... no issues with Wireless internet.

this problem occurs with both my Lenovo Yoga on Windows 10 and Galaxy Note 10. My Galaxy Alpha doesn't manage to complete the connection before it gets disconnected.

Six pages of frustration and no solution offered by technical support (Other than suggestions that have nothing to do with the device.).

If it was just the display adapter, I could maybe understand. But, the lack of technical support pretty much describes Microsoft in general. Users are left to find their own fix, if possible. FWIW, Apple Airplay works perfectly

Well, after fooling around a bit I tried messing with advanced power settings..  I changed the setting for when to turn off the display from 10 minutes to two hours. Guess what, the adapter stayed connected for over an hour. Why the adapter would drop connection when the display was set turn off beats me. FWWIW, I was using the second screen only setting for the adapter. One caveat, The display setting I changed was in the advanced power settings.

Yup - this hits the nail right on the head. This is definitely a bug tying the adapter connection to the display timeout.
