Wireless Display Adapter Disconnects

I am currently a teacher in a high school teaching math. I am too experiencing this issue. i was excited to start using this in class since it allows me to teach and make my way around the classroom both to help those who need to be closer to me during instruction and also to keep quiet those who distract others. 

I would love to use this exclusively in class since I do many other things with computer technology in my class. The SP3 allows me to be free from my desk during the class period. I will try some of these solutions despite many of you saying it didn't work for you. I hope there will be an update soon.

My district is interested in using the SP3 for this ability alone but if it can't show that it is reliable then I they're not going to make a move on something like this.

Just adding my own experiences with this device using Surface Pro 3:

Disconnects irregularly and without obvious patterns with relation to use of other things.  Bluetooth on, off, heavy internet use or no internet use, audio on or muted, playing video, changing screen screen extend/mirror/etc types seems to do nothing to shorten or prolong the time the wireless adapter will actually stay connected to my Surface Pro 3.  Often the number of screen artifacts and audio skips will increase before the wireless display adapter disconnects.

Following the advice on this thread, I changed my wifi band to 2.4GHz only and saw no improvement.

Following the advice on this thread and also here (https://www.microsoft.com/surface/en-us/support/music-photos-and-video/troubleshoot-wireless-display-adapter?os=windows-10) I put the Surface Pro and the display adapter as close as possible with no devices near them and a clear line of site, and I saw no improvement.

The disconnection often include a significant period of time where the Surface will still read as "connected" to the wireless display despite the screen displaying "ready to connect."

The wireless display adapter usually remains connected for about 30 minutes before disconnecting, but it can remain connected as long as an hour or as briefly as a few minutes.

This is incredibly frustrating and I eagerly await a proper fix from Microsoft, in the mean time I plan to submit a warranty claim assuming my device is simply defective.

Yes I meant the setting for your WiFi adapter.

There is no "band" setting for the Wireless Display Adapter.  There is for the normal WiFi device, but not for the display adapter.

Right click the wireless icon by the time -> Open Network and Sharing -> Change Adapter Settings -> Right on the Wireless Adapter -> Properties ->  Click Configure -> Advanced Tab -> Band.
