Are you serious???  It has nothing to do with a virus or malware!

I'm not sure you understand the problem here!   We are speaking of the new "Microsoft wireless display adapter" that was released a couple weeks ago.

My surface pro 2 connects to the device and works well.  But at some point it disconnects for no reason.  Even if sitting 2-3 feet from device.  This week I had a powerpoint presentation to do.  I used that device but it disconnected like 10 time in an hour!  No one who assisted that meeting will ever buy a microsoft wireless display adapter.  I really hope that a fix is possible for this by releasing a firmware update

for either the device or my surface pro2

    Hello Danbord,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community forum.

As you have mentioned that all of the latest updates are installed. As per your description you are able to watch movies without problem for some time and some time you faces issues. So there might be a chance that your computer might be affected by viruses/malware. So, I would request you to run a scan on your computer and check if it helps to fix the issue.

The Microsoft Safety Scanner is a free downloadable security tool that provides on-demand scanning and helps remove viruses, spyware, and other malicious software. It works with your existing antivirus software.

    http://www.microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

**Note:**The Microsoft Safety Scanner expires 10 days after being downloaded. To rerun a scan with the latest anti-malware definitions, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again.

**Note:**Any data files that are infected may only be cleaned by deleting the file entirely, which means there is a potential for data loss.

Do keep us updated about the issue and we will be happy to assist you.

    Regards.

I have the same issue with my surface pro 2.  I have the latest updates.  Sometimes I can watch a full movie without a problem.  But some other times it seems like I cannot watch for more than 5 minutes.  It disconnects and does not reconnect automatically..   This device is awesome but that peoblem is Pretty annoying

    Hi Anthony,

Thank you for the update on the issue and sorry for delayed response.

As you have mentioned that when you tried to use the same adapter at your work then it works fine but when you tried to use it at your home it gets disconnected.

Just for testing purpose try to use the same adapter in your one of the neighbor house and check the result and do get back to us with the result.

    Regards.

I think some of these problems come from the TV you are connecting to. I took my adapter to work and connected it to a projector and it worked perfectly for a two hour video. I then brought it back home and got disconnected alot. So I don't know what to think now. Is it my TV, my Surface Pro while at home, is there too much interference in my apartment?
