I got my Surface Book 3 on a very crazy discount, so I couldn't say no lol.
I can see why Microsoft isn't continuing them. Good idea, but lots of problems.
And it overheats too!

I bought the Surface book 3 a few weeks ago. It just installed some updates and now my Nvidia card has disappeared from the device manger.
It was working properly before the updates go installed so now I am suspecting it's something to do with the windows updates. My surface book hasn't received the latest 2004 windows update yet. I have already gone through the Nvidia driver experience app to manual install the graphics card driver but it says it can't detect any graphics card. I am pretty sure a brand new 3grand machine will not be equipped with a faulty graphics card, because that will be stupid. Will be contacting MS soon. Is anyone else experiencing the same problem.

2021-12-11T01:40:10+00:00 I had this exact same problem on my original Surface Book, and again on my newer Surface Book 3 for Business.
I will be playing a game on the nVidia card and some times it plays great for hours and hours, and other times it randomly disconnects several times in the same day. Undocking and redocking the screen will get it back.
Far too much money spent for a video card that just randomly disappears when in use.

Pity, good laptop - but I wish Microsoft nailed this one (as much as I love Microsoft)>

2022-01-28T19:38:57+00:00 Yosha - I had this happen once on my SB3 13.5". I undocked the tablet and re-docked it. That seemed to make it re-appear in the device manager. Good luck!
This happened to me today after I updated my SB3. It's funny how the Microsoft Agent gives this long instruction set to attempt to solve the problem when your suggestion worked. Detached and reattached the screen and the 1660Ti showed up no problem. Thank goodness too because the Intel sucks when trying to run any half decent game with good settings and high frame rate.

2022-01-28T20:45:35+00:00 I love the answer given. My SB3 did that the other day with my NVIDIA card and it took the whole removing the screen and reattaching it + a reboot. Then Fallout 4 would work :)
