Surface Book 3 Nvidia Graphics card disappears after updates.

I bought the Surface book 3 a few weeks ago. It just installed some updates and now my Nvidia card has disappeared from the device manger.

It was working properly before the updates go installed so now I am suspecting it's something to do with the windows updates. My surface book hasn't received the latest 2004 windows update yet. I have already gone through the Nvidia driver experience app to manual install the graphics card driver but it says it can't detect any graphics card. I am pretty sure a brand new 3grand machine will not be equipped with a faulty graphics card, because that will be stupid. Will be contacting MS soon. Is anyone else experiencing the same problem.

There are NO fixes that last for any period of time that I know of. I've dealt with numerous, full blown Microsoft tech support sessions. I've had them exchange my Surface Book 3 for a new, not reconditioned one. Microsoft needs to figure out a fix that is far deeper than mere settings.

I've still got a 13" surface book 2 as well.

The problem is that most users don't even know that they have lost the use of their GPU since most of their apps simply don't engage it. I would bet the only reason that the individuals on this thread noticed the issue is because of their specific use cases with their computers. Otherwise, they wouldn't even know.

Regardless, once the machine begins to have issues users typically just give the machine a three finger salute or any of the other "remedies" that this thread have uncovered! I would venture a guess that this issue affects ALL SurfaceBook machines (I KNOW it affects both my SB2 and SB3). There is no difference.

I have to admit it has been less of a problem of late.
But I don't detatch the screen as often anymore - the party trick that sold me on this (ie 15" tablet of awesome).

NEXT time it'll be an overpowered custom desktop and a cheap tablet.

It is sad that Microsoft got it both so wrong on the THIRD attempt and doesn't care enough about those of us affected by this issue.

its very irritating. My SBw/PB was awesome, just got old and needed upgrading. the SB3 worked great for the first few months until a firmware update broke it.
