Surface Book 3 Nvidia Graphics card disappears after updates.

I bought the Surface book 3 a few weeks ago. It just installed some updates and now my Nvidia card has disappeared from the device manger.

It was working properly before the updates go installed so now I am suspecting it's something to do with the windows updates. My surface book hasn't received the latest 2004 windows update yet. I have already gone through the Nvidia driver experience app to manual install the graphics card driver but it says it can't detect any graphics card. I am pretty sure a brand new 3grand machine will not be equipped with a faulty graphics card, because that will be stupid. Will be contacting MS soon. Is anyone else experiencing the same problem.

Sorry not sure I follow, "wont detach". You have the detach button in the top right hand corner, assuming it a SB3 model. Does it not flash green when pressed.

The other method which work for me to bring back the GPU was a cold boot. ( Press and hold down the power button until the Surface shuts down and restarts and you see the Windows logo screen ( approx 20 seconds ), "then release the power button". Check device manager or task manager.

Update, If it doesnt detach as the button doesnt work, I found this manual method below. I would be very careful however , ideally something non metallic.

    Attempt at your own risk.

Well, of course. But it simply won't detach - as if it's installed properly for a 'high GPU-requirements only' installation / configuration.

So have you tried a detach / re-attach of the SB3 tablet section. This normally always brings it back. You can check in device manager and do a "scan for hardware changes".

I keep my Device Manager open and check every time I resume my SB3 from sleep to check its still there. Its early days but so far so good.

I cant say for games as I haven't used any recently. More for productivity and GPU processing, and having the option of playing Steam games.

After installing the latest firmware updates and Windows updates, the Quadro RTX 3000 GPU is now completely gone again.

So I'm back at square one.
