Been there many times. It's not a fix. It's temporary and sooner than later it disappears again. Microsoft has a problem they refuse to fix and I'm stuck with it. For the heck of it I just installed Windows 11 to see if it made any difference with GPU stability but no such luck. At least once a day or more my GPU disappears and the only fix is to detach and reattach the screen, reboot, or look for new hardware in device manager. Sometimes it goes away permanently, and I must reinstall the Surface Firmware to get it back.
Surface Book 3 Nvidia Graphics card disappears after updates.
I bought the Surface book 3 a few weeks ago. It just installed some updates and now my Nvidia card has disappeared from the device manger.
It was working properly before the updates go installed so now I am suspecting it's something to do with the windows updates. My surface book hasn't received the latest 2004 windows update yet. I have already gone through the Nvidia driver experience app to manual install the graphics card driver but it says it can't detect any graphics card. I am pretty sure a brand new 3grand machine will not be equipped with a faulty graphics card, because that will be stupid. Will be contacting MS soon. Is anyone else experiencing the same problem.

2021-08-07T02:18:40+00:00 I doubt it very much.
I don't think they even bother to monitor their own support chat rooms. They've certainly never bothered to reply to this at any stage in the past year.
I think the problem is we are a fringe group. The 1% or whatever who HAVE an issue. With 99% of customers happy we seem like whingy complainers who can't have a 'real' problem. Hence the silence.
Just vote with your upset word of mouth and then your wallet next time.
It is a real pity as a 15" full windows tablet is AWESOME. Just don't expect it to reliably use its external graphics card.
