Surface Book 3 Nvidia Graphics card disappears after updates.

I bought the Surface book 3 a few weeks ago. It just installed some updates and now my Nvidia card has disappeared from the device manger. 

It was working properly before the updates go installed so now I am suspecting it's something to do with the windows updates. My surface book hasn't received the latest 2004 windows update yet. I have already gone through the Nvidia driver experience app to manual install the graphics card driver but it says it can't detect any graphics card. I am pretty sure a brand new 3grand machine will not be equipped with a faulty graphics card, because that will be stupid. Will be contacting MS soon. Is anyone else experiencing the same problem.

    Yosha - I had this happen once on my SB3 13.5".  I undocked the tablet and re-docked it.  That seemed to make it re-appear in the device manager.  Good luck!

    This happened to me today after I updated my SB3. It's funny how the Microsoft Agent gives this long instruction set to attempt to solve the problem when your suggestion worked. Detached and reattached the screen and the 1660Ti showed up no problem. Thank goodness too because the Intel sucks when trying to run any half decent game with good settings and high frame rate.

    I think mine disconnects if my PC goes to sleep. When it powers up, it totally loses the NVIDIA card.

    Pity, good laptop - but I wish Microsoft nailed this one (as much as I love Microsoft)>

    I had this exact same problem on my original Surface Book, and again on my newer Surface Book 3 for Business.

    I will be playing a game on the nVidia card and some times it plays great for hours and hours, and other times it randomly disconnects several times in the same day. Undocking and redocking the screen will get it back.

    Far too much money spent for a video card that just randomly disappears when in use.

    That is cool! Got to love Fallout 4.

    I got my Surface Book 3 on a very crazy discount, so I couldn't say no lol.

    I can see why Microsoft isn't continuing them. Good idea, but lots of problems.

    And it overheats too!

    Fallout 4?! As odd as it might sound this is partly how I came to the Surface Book 3 (and not a newer Surface Pro) - upgrade to something that would run Fallout 4! Still playing it now :) I don't get many issues running fallout, unless of course it has decided to drop the card unexpectedly.

    The issue does mean it stays as an overpriced laptop most of the time and rarely becomes a tablet - the party trick it was bought for. Losing the primary graphics almost EVERY time it goes through a detach re-attach cycle is maddening.

    It does seem more stable on Windows 11, although wouldn't say it was completely fixed.
