Surface Book 3 Nvidia Graphics card disappears after updates.

I bought the Surface book 3 a few weeks ago. It just installed some updates and now my Nvidia card has disappeared from the device manger.

It was working properly before the updates go installed so now I am suspecting it's something to do with the windows updates. My surface book hasn't received the latest 2004 windows update yet. I have already gone through the Nvidia driver experience app to manual install the graphics card driver but it says it can't detect any graphics card. I am pretty sure a brand new 3grand machine will not be equipped with a faulty graphics card, because that will be stupid. Will be contacting MS soon. Is anyone else experiencing the same problem.

1)Uninstall all Nvidia drivers from PC (may require restart) 2)Enter Device Manager and click on Display Adapters (Make sure all Nvidia drivers are uninstalled before doing this) 3)Right click Intel Graphics card and disable it 4)Restart PC 5)Re-install Nvidia drivers 6)Restart PC 7)Go to device manager and click on Display Adapters 8)You should now see both Intel and Nvidia graphics cards, Right click Intel card and enable it. 9)You might need to restart one more time.

    hi all

i have the same problem with my SB3 15".  Detaching & Re-attaching the tablet didn’t work for me.  The Microsoft support team suggests me to do Surface Recovery Image Download - refresh your Surface or reset it to its factory condition.  However i think to reset it to its FACTORY condition is too much !! And it is not acceptable for a USD 3K "top graded" computer !!!!  And I am told there is NO physical Microsoft  service center in my city that I can bring my SB3 for checking!

As a IT layman, I felt very desperate and helpless .

Then I asked a colleague in IT department for help. I followed his suggestion to re-install the Nvidia driver. It is working for me !! thanks God !     And this driver is just released on 2021.3.17.

For whom Microsoft cannot help at all, let’s try the latest Nvidia driver. I will observe my SB3 for few days for sure.

Very very very disappointed with SB3 & Microsoft.

A funny thing is that the support team guided me via phone call how to do checking blablabla… she said that I would know how to do so afterwards. My thought was “should you resolve the problem NOW entirely? Am I supposed to face the same problem again and do the checking by myself ?!!!”

    Good Luck !
