Plugged in, not charging and if I unplug that AC adapter, it turns off

I have a Surface Pro that is a little over 2 years old. About two weeks ago, the battery now reports "Plugged in, not charging" and seems stuck at 60%. I say seemed because if I unplug that AC adapter, it dies instantly. It also will die periodically while on the charger. I have two Microsoft AC adapters and neither of them seem to charge my device.

I've tried all the Microsoft suggestions for this state, but none of them made any difference. Is there a way to diagnose if this is a hardware problem, or is this a new artifact from the latest updates? (My device reports it is up to date.) I never had any battery issues before (lucky, I suppose), and I've treated my surface pretty carefully. I'll be more than disappointed if it's crapped out already.

I'll attach a battery report, but I don't think it tells me anything in particular.

    I have the same problem after the most recent firmware update. Things were fine in Aug 2015, then in June 2016 and Aug 2016 the firmware update screwed up the battery stats and now show battery not detected forcing me to use always plugged in. My Rt tablet is older and battery functions and reports are fine. Microsoft  just does nit to fix this problem as their technical staff has no clue to the functions of the firmware corrections for all the Surface Pro 3 serial numbers with different firmware chips built into their units.

    Was it okay before the firmware mess started, or can you pretty much assume it's from updates?  

    MS had me uninstall the battery driver, but that didn't work.  But, you can try that.

    It didn't seem to matter after the November 2016 update, but I only had a few Simplo batteries compared to the LGC's.  It seems like the first fix messed up the LGC's, then the next fix messed up the Simplo's again, and back and forth, til they got the firmware update right.

    Unfortunately, after so many bad updates that overwrite firmware, it was kinda too late for the good fix to work they wanted it to, which is to run updates, and voila!

    what was the mix of Simplo vs LGC batteries? Did you use the same process to

    "fix" both?
