Plugged in, not charging and if I unplug that AC adapter, it turns off

I have a Surface Pro that is a little over 2 years old. About two weeks ago, the battery now reports "Plugged in, not charging" and seems stuck at 60%. I say seemed because if I unplug that AC adapter, it dies instantly. It also will die periodically while on the charger. I have two Microsoft AC adapters and neither of them seem to charge my device.

I've tried all the Microsoft suggestions for this state, but none of them made any difference. Is there a way to diagnose if this is a hardware problem, or is this a new artifact from the latest updates? (My device reports it is up to date.) I never had any battery issues before (lucky, I suppose), and I've treated my surface pretty carefully. I'll be more than disappointed if it's crapped out already.

    I have not been on here much lately since my WiFi issue has finally been fixed, however I do experience the random I put my device to sleep and shut wake it up and it drained while in my bag. Never managed to get that to work right. Anyhow. I continue to stay on Windows 8 because of the entire telemetry and other issues. And I avoided updates since then when 7 and 8 got the same similar tracking as windows 10.  So only updating cautious here and there. Reading about these battery issues in the headlines has had me avoid updating my firmware and I came here for an update and I see it has yet to be resolved. As much as I would like to help any class action on this issue I do have 2 Surface Pro 3's. One is on Windows 8 with firmware before July 2016 and one with Windows 10 Firmware from December 2016.  Is there any test I can do to assist? The windows 10 tends to remain docked, where my Windows 8 is the one I use on the go. I will not apply the firmware ever it seems since there is no resolution. Let me know

    This is how they are attempting to get rid of evidence.  I have faith that the lawyers have already taken screenshots or cached the page though.  Everyone should just start sending their stories to the lawyers and get this class action started.  MS is not here to help you and they will likely just delete this message, too.   Spread the word to tech blogs and the like;  this is criminal behaviour.

    Frankly I'm just surprised they are not out right deleting the thread, they are deleting posts on the thread though, it's shrinking in size, fast.
