Plugged in, not charging and if I unplug that AC adapter, it turns off

I have a Surface Pro that is a little over 2 years old. About two weeks ago, the battery now reports "Plugged in, not charging" and seems stuck at 60%. I say seemed because if I unplug that AC adapter, it dies instantly. It also will die periodically while on the charger. I have two Microsoft AC adapters and neither of them seem to charge my device.

I've tried all the Microsoft suggestions for this state, but none of them made any difference. Is there a way to diagnose if this is a hardware problem, or is this a new artifact from the latest updates? (My device reports it is up to date.) I never had any battery issues before (lucky, I suppose), and I've treated my surface pretty carefully. I'll be more than disappointed if it's crapped out already.

I'll attach a battery report, but I don't think it tells me anything in particular.

    Thanks Barb,

    So this update is similar to fixing the broken fuel gauge of a car (for those that had a broken fuel gauge).

    I guess my gauge wasn't broken to begin with, so I misinterpreted as this being a fix of any sort.

    Well no, I'm not for instance docked, but many of us here have an issue where our battery will not charge, or show a charge anymore.  In my case my battery seems to work but the system cannot detect it.  Therefore 40% charge indication is not possible.

    The exact symptoms on this thread (and frankly what MS is trying to resolve) will likely vary, but I think for most of us we're here because we feel like no matter where we go MS will ignore us unless our voices are too loud.

    So I'm putting mine in, the fix will not install for me, but no I am not using a docking station.

    if it shows as successfully installed, you are ok. there have been issues for

    some folks when docked, but again, if you had a successful installation, there

    is no need to do anything.

    The fix has an endless need to reboot. It did nothing to fix the problem they created
