Yellow tint on Surface Book Screen

I have a really noticeable yellow tint stain on all sides of my Surface Book. I spent well over 3 grand roughly a year or two ago on this "State of the Art" machine and now this? I need this fixed - how do I get this resolved? If its past the time limits you still need to fix this issue, I have seen too many posts on this now and it seems like faulty equipment - not something we should have to have already on this machine we invested so much into!!

Good luck. I've finally given up. After speaking with multiple people about my Surface Book's battery swelling, the best I got was a gracious offer to charge me another $900 for a refurbished Surface Book that WILL have the same issue. I'm done. Now, I need to find out how to dispose of a laptop with a hazardous battery.

I guess Msft is hoping some people will go for the replacement offer. If I was paying for the SB myself, I'd definitely file a BBB complaint.

    Hi all,

I went for the replacement which costs $600.

It is for the surface book with performance base.

I know it's frustrating but for a laptop i have used for 4 years in work and play (as in heavy gameplay and video editing), the cost is worth it. I just hope it doesn't happen again. I'll keep you posted about the status of the replacement laptop.

Their customer service have been so far great.

    Regards,

    Eddie

I decided to not trust Microsoft in replacements. I got word from at least 10 sources, the replacement still has the default batteries. I decide to drop the surface books for now and went with a Lenovo Yoga. Same specs as the surface, got it on sale at Costco and it was $800 cheaper without the tablet function, saving on dual batteries and this laptop work wonderfully.

    Hi all,

This is an update to my service request (order replacement: 1523729390): it was not good.

I was very satisfied with the process but only until I started to setup the replacement.

    • June 8 - I started the process (contacted support) to open a replacement.
    • June 15 - I sent the defective unit thru UPS
    • June 18 - They received it in their center in El Paso, TX
    • June 19 - They sent the replacement
    • June 23 - I received the replacement

I was expecting that the tech or service engineers would have done a job at testing it before sending it but it seems that didn't happen. However, I am still updating the system drivers and hopefully, it will get this fixed.

It would be soooo disappointed if this will not go away...

I am very familiar with this issue as I have done all recommended troubleshooting way before I got yellow tints and battery bulging on my laptop.

But if there is a new fix, I'm open to doing it...
