Yellow tint on Surface Book Screen

My son was complaining of problems with his surface book 2 at college.  Just brought it home to diagnose and discovered this issue. His screen is not bulging yet, but he has distinct yellowing on the bottom of the screen which reacts when pressure is applied. With the knowledge gained from this website I now regret having just purchased a Surface Book 3 for my daughter who is starting her freshman year.  Microsoft needs to own up to this design flaw and treat its customers right.  I spent way more than I could have by assuming that doing so would guarantee a quality product for my hard working students.

I Spent $2800 on this Surface book Pro in 2017. The Microsoft store replaced it with a Identical version and the same thing is happening again.. Can I Just have a working laptop??   I Bought an Apple IPAD around the same time and basically have it powered on all the time watching twitch and have never had any issues with the battery.  Why is Microsoft just waiting on a Class Action Law Suit to fix this issue..

I am not even going to shell out $600 to have them fix something that is not my fault.. That is BS..

I order Surface laptops for my company and have had multiple devices with battery swelling and honestly didn't give it a second thought. But now I am having issues with support and multiple devices on my desk with swollen batteries. After searching the internet I see this is a common issue. This is ridiculous.

as this has happened to me recently I would like to enter this discussion. Right now they are sending a replacement. I get the yellow (orange) spots when using the surface dock 2 with 2 additional screens but only, when my surface book 2 is on a higher performance mode (regarding the battery) or the screen brightness is higher than 1/3. Question: Is that also your experience or does this appear all the time for you?

Since it is quite probable that these yellow spots will appear on my replacement sooner or later I was wondering how one could prevent it (as much as possible) to happen. 

So first solution for me would be to just turn down the screen brightness of the surface book when having it docked onto the surface dock 2 to prevent the (replacements) battery from overheating. But this is not really satisfying. Has anyone tried using cooling stands for laptops?

It's amazing seeing so many people get free replacements, or straight-up upgrades for their broken devices here... I'm tempted to call these people liars, but I guess have no real idea outside my abysmal support experience.

My device had a swollen battery behind the screen so bad that it was making me and my wife sick when we used it (distortion). It was also creating light leaks, and was physically so bad we were concerned the screen might start to crack...

Support told us (after we provided images and video of the issue) that they would "offer" us a replacement Surface Book 1 for $600. Six hundred dollars... and the only problem with this machine was a $30 defective battery that Microsoft irresponsibly placed inside their product. I get that we're outside warranty, but this machine is worth $700 refurbished, and this problem was caused through no fault of ours (it's 100% on Microsoft). To add insult to injury, you can't unscrew this computer to get to the battery, instead you need to do the near-impossible and pull/shave the screen off the glued base (after applying a heat gun for an hour or so) just to open it... then you need to straight-up disassemble the motherboard to get to the battery beneath.

Anyway, I did the near impossible and got the screen off, AND replaced the stupid battery after Microsoft gave us that bad deal. It took a grand total of 6-7 hours, but it's done. Now, the NEW screen Iinstalled is giving me this problem described in this thread... I'm getting yellow spots and yellow tint on the sides. I can't tell if someone sold me a used screen, or if this is just a thing that happens to these awful, cheaply-made, unsupported computers.

Microsoft ought to be ashamed of themselves... for so many reasons.
