Yellow tint on Surface Book Screen

I have a really noticeable yellow tint stain on all sides of my Surface Book. I spent well over 3 grand roughly a year or two ago on this "State of the Art" machine and now this? I need this fixed - how do I get this resolved? If its past the time limits you still need to fix this issue, I have seen too many posts on this now and it seems like faulty equipment - not something we should have to have already on this machine we invested so much into!!

I had the exact opposite experience.  The screen of my Surface Book is yellowing on both sides, so I took it into the Microsoft Store in Los Angeles (in the Century City mall).  They told me that I'd need to pay $600 to replace the screen.  It's truly unbelievable to think that I spent $3000 on a computer that needs the screen replaced after a little over a year due to a known defect.  Shame on Microsoft for this.  I'll highly recommend to everyone I know to stay away from the Surface in the future.

Please show them my post and call corporate office if necessary, this is their flagship product and its known issue

I had the exact same situation as Jeffs did.

MS told me the repairing cost would be $599.00.

I spend more than 2,500.00 around two years ago(Dec of 2015).

The MS guy told me they knew the problem already.

MS must recall or have free fix if the problem is caused by the manufacturer.

Hope they do some responsible solotion for the damaged customers.

The Dallas, TX Microsoft store told me they would exchange at no cost (and did) for the Surface Book 2. The explanation the Microsoft Rep told me was, "This is our Flagship product and it would be sent in for Research and Development to determine what caused the issue."

This is a widely known issue with the faulty battery that sits behind the screen. My Surface Book 1 had a noticeable bulge additionally protruding in the screen. The store you are taking this into needs to be aware that this is a known manufacturers issue and it needs to be replaced. The machine was termed with being "State of Art" and a "MacBook Killer" - the Surface Book 1 had glaring issues with its hardware and they need to make good on this and fix you as well. I was overly satisfied with how the Dallas branch treated me, I hope you get the same experience as well. Spending this much money on a faulty product can be annoying to say the least. I would certainly escalate the issue to their corporate offices if the response from the local store is to spend more money!

I just got off the phone with support for the same issue. They offered the $600 replacement as well. I asked that it be escalated up a level and was told they will contact me on Wednesday. NOT ACCEPTABLE to pay so much for a product that will not last two years.

My screen was starting to bulge out - you could see a hump forming (they told me it was the faulty designed battery behind the screen). Do you have any bulging on the screen you can see? Faulty design isn't the consumers fault! I would escalate the issue and let them know other stores replaced the unit

Sorry to post in your thread but I'm hoping that the visibility of your result can help with the resolution of mine.

I have a Surface Book 1 that is suffering from this same issue.  I've tried taking it into a Microsoft Store and had an extremely terrible experience.  The Microsoft representative hardly glanced at the screen, told me the warranty was up and that I needed to pay $600 for a replacement.  He refused to look up the fact that this is a known hardware issue.  I tried calling support, was passed around to three different people and eventually told the same thing, $600.

My Surface Book was very lightly used.   Paying $600 after the initial cost (~$2500) of the device after such little time is not something that I can feel right about doing.

I've been an avid supporter of Microsoft for years.  I've even let my experience with the Band 2 slide (5 faulty devices due to charging issues before just throwing in the towel).  However, I cannot in good conscience continue to support Microsoft if they are not willing to stand behind their flagship product.

I'm hoping that someone from Microsoft support sees this and gets in touch with me to restore my faith in this company.
