Good luck. I've finally given up. After speaking with multiple people about my Surface Book's battery swelling, the best I got was a gracious offer to charge me another $900 for a refurbished Surface Book that WILL have the same issue. I'm done. Now, I need to find out how to dispose of a laptop with a hazardous battery.
Yellow tint on Surface Book Screen
I have a really noticeable yellow tint stain on all sides of my Surface Book. I spent well over 3 grand roughly a year or two ago on this "State of the Art" machine and now this? I need this fixed - how do I get this resolved? If its past the time limits you still need to fix this issue, I have seen too many posts on this now and it seems like faulty equipment - not something we should have to have already on this machine we invested so much into!!

2021-06-11T02:53:56+00:00 I had the same issue with my second Surface Book, when I took it to the store they said it was caused by the battery, they replaced the upper part of the device and it was OK for about 6 months and then it returned. I rarely use the screen on the device as my new role has me at my desk more so I didn't notice an issue until last year when I noticed that the screen had separated badly from the back due to the battery expanding. I reached out since this is a issue that MS knows about, they wanted $599 to repair it and I thought that was insane for a known issue either in or out of warranty. Now 10 months later the base is bulging as well, and I am reaching out again to see if they are going to deal with this or not.

2021-05-28T16:53:51+00:00 Welcome to the
futureway things should be!My XPS 17 apparently had some kind of mother board power issue, although I didn't notice it. I was alerted by Dell.
I could have chosen to have them come out and replace the motherboard, but I instead chose to have them ship a new one to me. It's in a box waiting to be replaced, although as I said I didn't notice the issue. I'll get round to replacing it eventually.
The point is, this is the service you expect. Microsoft could learn a lot from Dell! I'm considering to extend my warranty, which is not something I usually do. I think the cost of the warranty is much less than the inconvenience of being without my XPS (main PC).

2021-05-28T16:13:21+00:00 A week into my Dell replacement for an SB2 and have to reiterate how nice it is not to have to worry constantly about shut downs, overheating, not detecting external monitors and all the other issues that plagued the Surface. I fire the Dell up and it all just works as it should.

2021-05-24T18:46:46+00:00 I got an XPS 17, and so far it's great. The Touch screen isn't as good, the screen's not a digitizer like the SBs, but it's OK, and the screen is clear and good quality .
MS, have a lot of bad karma coming their way. My SB is on the far end of my desk. I can't bring myself to bin it, it still works apart from the yellow screen and swollen battery. 😡
