Yellow tint on Surface Book Screen

I have a really noticeable yellow tint stain on all sides of my Surface Book. I spent well over 3 grand roughly a year or two ago on this "State of the Art" machine and now this? I need this fixed - how do I get this resolved? If its past the time limits you still need to fix this issue, I have seen too many posts on this now and it seems like faulty equipment - not something we should have to have already on this machine we invested so much into!!

    Hi everybody,

I feel obligated to tell you about my experience.

First, I’ll give you some context. I’m based in Peru and bought my Surface book computer in May 2019 from Amazon in a vacation trip. After one and a half years of use the yellow tints appeared on the sides. Six months later the screen was bulged even though it broke the glass screen protector. I’ve contacted Microsoft support at USA asking for replacement, mentioning that I was going to travel to USA, and I’d wanted to be aware of the replacement process. They replied saying that my country was not supported by MS and that I should dispose my laptop. August last year, I traveled to London. The first thing I did as soon as I landed was going to a Microsoft Store, because of all the advises on this post. I was lucky that Microsoft specialist who took care of my case was really worried about my laptop that he told me I must not keep using the laptop. He mentioned that he must do what he thought was right and talk to the supervisor to get me a replacement. He claimed that my laptop was beyond the 3 years of warranty. However, as soon as I showed him the first mail answers, I got from Microsoft support, he proceeded with the replacement.

Something important to mention is that there were not a refurbished or new laptop with identical specifications than mine (surface book 1). After asking the supervisor they replace my laptop with an upgraded model, the surface book 2.

After all, I advise to go to Microsoft Stores if possible. I was lucky I found a specialist who really cares about customer.

I actually got a free laptop replacement at Microsoft Store in London. Even thought my laptop was over the 3 years old.

I agree with you, I think a class action lawsuit is what we need.  My replacement computer is also having issues i.e., USB port work when it wants too, keyboard gets stuck, and the computer just locks and I can't do anything for a while.

Sign me up for that lawsuit they want me to pay $599. For Microsoft's faulty battery!

Thank you for your recent contact in Microsoft Surface Customer Support.

We received information regarding an expanded battery issue you were having with a Surface Book. We take these claims very seriously and want to make sure we can get this resolved for you.

My name is Simon and I am reaching out to you from the Microsoft Surface Support regarding the issue you reported. Thank you for sending in the requested pictures of the damage to the Surface device and we were able to confirm that this is indeed an expanded battery issue on the Surface.

In line with this, we have reviewed your case and validated the serial number which shows that the device that you have is already beyond 3 years from the date of purchase. With that being said, the best option that we can provide you is the Out Of Warranty replacement for your Surface****Bookfor a cost of 599 USD.

Please let us know if you'd like to take this option.

Should you have concerns or need further assistance, feel free to reply to this email and I would be happy to help.

Thank you for choosing Microsoft Surface. Have a great day!
